2020/21 Committee

Updated 31/08/2020 @ 20:18

Will Black

Captain

3rd Year Electrical and Electronic Engineering

I came to Bristol having some experience from a previous club. In my first year, I made the change to Recurve and fell in love with the sport and the club. Situation allowing, this year I'd like to come top 10 at BUCS Indoors and to achieve a national ranking. I'd also like to continue the work we've done raising the profile of Archery as a sport at this university

2nd Year Biochemistry

The year just gone was my first in archery, I got into it by chance- I was just bored one evening thinking about what cool stuff I’d want to get into. I particularly like the friendly atmosphere and sense of camaraderie that’s given off from the club. I’ve been a Freestyle Recurve archer ever since I started and have been enjoying my novice year; entering every competition I can and making the friends that I have!

Sophie Brain

Secretary

3rd Year Physics

I started shooting 9 years ago after an instructor on a holiday camp said I should take it up, although I think I probably peaked then!. My goal for this year is to get through to the second round of head-to-heads at BUCS finals

Development Officer

Prelim Year Physics

I've been shooting for about 3 years. 2 of which have been at UoB Archery despite not being a student (Finally got in!). You'll probably hear me before you see me. Listen out for me if you want some coaching 🙂

Ben Hutchinson

Competitions Officer

3rd Year Civil Engineering

I had briefly shot before Bristol but took up shooting barebow properly in my first year. I’m hoping that competitions will be able to occur in some form this year and that I’ll make BUCS finals again, even with my questionable technique…

Equipment Officer

2nd Year Law

I picked up archery again last year after being a casual archer when I was younger, and I shoot barebow. I am not a sporty person at all, so being actively told not to run on the range is perfect for me! This year I want to focus on my personal development and hopefully attend some competitions

Kieran Guoite

Equipment Officer

2nd Year Aerospace Engineering

I shot for a few years casually when I was much younger, but Bristol was my first time shooting competitively as a Recurve which is great fun (SWWU is fantastic). I hope to attend more competitions this year and hopefully manage the BUCS Finals if I can get lucky enough

Social Secretary

History BA Graduate

I took to archery during my final year, settled on Longbow and I’ve been missing targets ever since. You'll find me at sessions with a big stick being loud, Northern, and probably talking about music.

Callum McDonnell

Social Media Officer

4th Year Aerospace Engineering

I only started archery when I first came to Bristol and have been shooting Recurve since. The club has been a great part of my university experience and I have made some of my best friends here. This year I hope to reach the BUCS Finals again (if it runs), or at least avoid breaking all my arrows

Well-being Officer

2nd Year Psychology

I started archery at age 11 and have really enjoyed my first year with UoB Archery. Biggest achievement of the year is turning up to a Sunday morning session a total of once, hoping to double that total next year.
