Executive Committee 2016/17

Picture

Steve Williams - Captain

"Steve, our beloved and respected captain. He was previously on the committee at Swansea University’s archery club, and thus has many years of experience. Steve is always the first one at the pub, armed with a deck (or two… or three) of Uno cards, complete with his own custom rule-set. Going from shooting recurve at Swansea, he is now training himself to shoot compound as well, with “mixed” results. Steve is a top lad and always has a fun fact about Swansea to share. Did we mention he used to go to Swansea? He went to Swansea."

 - Richard & Jayden

Richard Taylor - Treasurer

"Richard comes from the suburb of France known as Jersey. Quite how this made him eligible for the role of Treasurer I'll never know (I'm not even sure Jersey has real money). But despite my protests, Treasurer he became and he might even do a passable job at it. You'll normally find Richard partaking in one of his favourite past times; drinking in the pub, being too nerdy to function, being a trendsetter for archery equipment or becoming more red than a lobster after being in the sun for more than 5 minutes.  If you see him, make sure to give him a good pat on the back; particularly if he's sunburnt."

Jayden Hewlett - Secretary

"Jay is our club’s secretary, which is fitting as he will always complain about spelling, grammar, or using the wrong word. When it comes to archery he likes to stick with the classic ‘copy the experts’ method, even to the extent of copying their equipment set-ups. Although quiet at first (Captains edit: 'Really?'), he’s there at all the socials and pub gatherings and is good fun once you get to know him. Also, and perhaps the most important thing to know about Jay, is that he has black hair."

 - Richard

Will Armstrong - Development Officer

"Will is an excellent barebow archer (he even claims to have hit the boss once; although it was during the summer when nobody where there to bare witness), is always happy to give advice and is never one to shy away from a challenge (so long as he can cheat at it). He is open to a chat any time off the line; particularly if the topic is about recurve archery. If you catch him at the pub buy him a drink (and watch him fall off furniture). Just be aware if you play any games with him; he cheat (make sure you remember this).

Elliot Tyrrell - Equipment Officer

"Elliot is our resident longbower and Equipment Officer. Perhaps the most important thing to know about Elliot is that he can't have nice things; like milk, or bread, or archery technology developed after Agincourt. As a result, our Captain (Steve) describes our Elliot as being "allergic to fun". Despite these obvious setbacks, Elliot is still a top lad who is good at fixing broken things; and has even managed to grow an impressive & respectable beard."

 - Jayden

Caitlin Bailey - Social Sec

"Caitlin is a good laugh (probably why she is social sec), and her parties are on point- a bit like most of her arrows. Her punch mixes are particularly strong & you should be wary if faced with one; I was left on the floor (quite literally...)! Caitlin is pretty good at all things archery, and has a deep and detailed knowledge of many other University archery clubs (her speciality is Bradford); she is definitely a go-to gal."
